Change the Reward on your Program

Update the reward on your campaign from the Flow Builder

This guide is for customers using Extole’s upgraded Flow Builder. If you’re using the legacy version, rewards are managed in the Assets → Rules section instead.

Overview

Choosing the right reward is key to driving engagement. To keep your program fresh and relevant, we recommend updating rewards regularly. This article covers how to replace an existing reward (of the same type) in your campaign.

Navigate to the Event with Rewards

  1. Go to the Programs Page and click the Manage icon for your desired campaign, or from the Campaign Editor, select the Flow tab.
  2. Locate the business event that includes your current reward like Converted.

Update the Reward

  1. Click the existing reward to open its settings.
  2. In the Reward section, select the updated reward from the available options.
  3. Click Apply to save your changes.

Don’t see the reward you need? You’ll need to create it first, then return to this Reward section and select it. Refer to:

Update Reward Amount Variables

Changing the reward does not automatically update text that references the old reward amount. Any variables or copy that mention the value (for example "Get $10 off") will keep showing the previous amount until you update them.

  1. Go to the Assets tab for your campaign.
  2. Locate the Reward Amount variable(s) used across your creatives.
  3. Update each variable to reflect the new reward value.
  4. Click through all of the creatives to double-check that there are no remaining references to the old reward value.
  5. Save your changes.

Updating the variable in one place propagates the new value everywhere that variable is referenced, so you don't have to edit each creative individually.

Check the Reward Emails

Confirm the new value is reflected in the messages participants receive.

  1. Open the Reward Emails for the campaign (from the Assets section or the Flow page).
  2. Review the subject line, body copy, and reward messaging to make sure they show the new reward amount.
  3. Update any copy that hardcodes the old amount instead of using the reward amount variable.
  4. Use the email preview to confirm the correct value displays before publishing.

Prepare to Launch

Once your reward is updated, make sure your campaign is fully configured. Reward changes apply to the campaign draft until you publish the campaign live, so you can review the change before it reaches participants.
