Overview

A high acquisition rate often means the friend experience is working — people like the product, the offer motivates conversions, and you can spend time promoting the program rather than fixing the funnel. See Acquisition Rate for the formula and that reading. It can also be inflated when many transactors come from a small set of advocates, which is common in affiliate- or influencer-style sharing. Industry medians vary by vertical (often well below 30, with some industries near 30), so treat “high” relative to your program’s own history, not as a single cutoff.

How to Investigate a High Acquisition Rate

Start your investigation if share links are attributed to a high number of transactors. Pull the Successful Advocates report from the Segments & People reports in the Reports tab of My Extole to identify advocates who drove a high volume of transactions. Once you know how many transactors are attributed to specific advocates, subtract that from the total transactors for the period, then compare with the advocates in that period to recalculate the rate for everyone else. Once you have identified these people, consider whether your reward and reward limits are set up appropriately. You might also segment these people into an Ambassador program with a different reward structure.
