# Extole Chat

> Extole Chat is the assistant inside My Extole. Ask about your programs, look up account data, and make changes without leaving the page you are on.

## Overview

Extole Chat is the assistant inside My Extole. You ask in plain language about your programs, your participants, and your results. It looks up your account, explains what it finds, and, when you ask it to, drafts or applies changes.

Extole Chat is for the people who run your programs. It is not a chat your customers see, and it is not a person on your Extole team. A reply can be incomplete, out of date, or wrong. Confirm a number against your reports before you publish it or send it outside your organization.

If Extole Chat is not in your account yet, contact your Extole team.

## What to Use It For

Use Extole Chat when the question is about your own account and the next step is something you would otherwise do yourself in My Extole.

**Performance.** Ask how a program did over a period you name: shares, conversions, reward spend, or which placements drove results. Extole Chat can run a report and show the result in the conversation, including a chart when a trend or a comparison is easier to see than a table.

**A participant or a reward.** Ask why someone did or did not receive a reward, what a person has earned, or how a referral journey progressed. Name the person, for example by email address.

**How something is set up.** Ask how a live campaign works, which quality rules apply, or how a reward is configured.

**A change.** Ask it to draft a program, raise a friend reward, or add a rule. A new conversation starts in **Build**, which can create and change drafts. Publishing, issuing a reward, and account-level changes need **Full access**. See [Access Modes and Data](/product/extole-chat/advanced).

**A working summary.** Ask for a short account of how a program is performing and what is worth a closer look. Treat that summary as a starting point. The reports it cites are the record.

## Features

**A panel or a full page.** Extole Chat opens from the left navigation as a panel beside the page you are on. The same conversation is also available on its own page.

**Chats you can return to.** Each conversation is saved. **Recent chats** lists the latest ones, and **All chats** lists the rest.

**Rich replies.** A reply can include formatted text, links, a chart, a diagram, a profile card, or a report card. A report card shows the report name and its status, and opens the report.

**Files.** You can attach up to five files to a message, such as a screenshot of a site or a creative. You can send attachments with no text.

**A mode for each kind of work.** The message box shows the conversation's mode: **Ask**, **Build**, or **Full access**. **Ask** looks things up and creates safe things, such as reports. **Build** adds creating and changing drafts. **Full access** adds publishing, issuing rewards, and account-level changes. Extole Chat does not raise the mode on its own.

**Feedback.** Each reply has controls to copy it, rate it with a thumbs-up or thumbs-down, and **File a support ticket**. After a thumbs-down, you can add a short reason.
